Asilah, Morocco

While backpacking in Spain, I decided to take a few days and go to Morocco. I took a ferry from Tarifa, Spain to Tanger, Morocco. Once in Tanger, I boarded a bus for Asilah.

Asilah is a beautiful beach town on the north part of Morocco, on the Atlantic Ocean. The architecture reminded me of Greece with it’s white houses and blue roofs. There weren’t many tourists around when I was there. I was able to rent a furnished apartment from an old woman for 20 euros.

While in Asilah, I took a horse cart to Paradise Beach (it’s a seclude beach that’s hard to get to otherwise). The beach was practically untouched.

I would recommend going to Asilah to anyone who visits Morocco, to get a beautiful, non-touristy look at the Moroccan life!
