Vacation Reviews, Photos and Travel Advice for Hotels and Resorts

Disneyland

I am a fan of Disneyland (I’m 28 on the outside, 13 on the inside) but don’t be fooled – Disneyland is not just for kids. If you have never been to the park, definitely check it out: it is unlike anything you will ever experience on this scale.

It really is the happiest place on earth.

Disney’s California Adventure park is not worth the $58.50/person. You should stick to Disneyland. With that said, here are my favorite attractions:

  • Indiana Jones Adventure – THE BEST RIDE IN THE PARK
  • Space Mountain
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Autopia
  • Mark Twain Riverboat

Also, the “Remember … Dreams Come True” fireworks show late in the evening is pretty amazing.

For dining in the park, I recommend Blue Bayou in New Orleans Square. It’s the only Fine Dining place in the park. Make reservations a few days ahead of time; it books up quickly.

For accommodation, there are three hotels at the Disneyland Resort (Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, and Paradise Pier Hotel). If you’re going to stay at one, I recommend the Grand Californian. It’s 5-star and on the pricey side (at peak season, rooms can go up to around $500/night) but if your mother-in-law is footing the bill, I say go for it. :) The hotel’s restaurant, Napa Rose, serves fabulous food. Make reservations as it is a popular place.

If you want a taste of the nightlife, inside Disneyland Resort, you can go to Downtown Disney. Tons of restaurants and shops, House of Blues Anaheim, 12 AMC Theaters, and I believe there is even a comedy club.
