Great times in Panama
Boquete is a definite must for a Panama trek. The Quetzel trail around Vulcan Baru can be very tough, especially in heavy rain.

I started in Cerro Punta and ended up in the Boquete area. Bocas Tel Toro is a funky fishing village and the trip from the mainland is a small adventure. David is not worth the time except as a jumping off point for other areas. Bus rides are inexpensive and you get to rub elbows with locals. I stayed in hostels exclusively and had a great time. Like any place on earth, just keep your eyes open for possible shady characters and trust your gut.
