Provincetown
Cape Cod is one of my favorite places to go in summer. There are a lot of nice beaches, affordable hotels and all kind of tourist attractions. However, there is one small town at the tip which will surprise you not only with its natural beauty but also with its extraordinary culture and lifestyle. And it’s Provincetown or P-Town as the locals call.
P-Town is a great destination for a short trip not only for gay tourists but also for hetero visitors too. I am pretty sure that you will see more colorful characters per sq. foot than anywhere else on the planet. The Commercial Street, which is the main seaside road, is about a mile long and stuffed with boutique shops, waterfront restaurants and of course a colorful crowd. If you are looking for some entertainment, try one of those cabaret acts or one-man shows. As you would expect, most of them are “adults only” shows.
If you are curious about nature, there are miles of walking paths to wander and bike trails to explore. You will see plenty of rental sites to loan you some wheels for the day. Before you leave for home, make sure you shop for some souvenirs, but don’t buy something cheesy like a T-shirt or a mug. Buy a penis-shaped chocolate or a pair of sexy underwear from one of the local x-rated shops like Body Body or Forbidden Fruit.
