The Valley of the Kings, Egypt
I spent two weeks in Egypt, from Alexandria to Abu Simbal, with stops at Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. We sailed the Nile river from Luxor to Aswan touring the Valley of the Kings.
I am interested in Egyptian History so I was excited to get to visit places I had only read about. I found Egypt to be a very nice country with friendly people.
I discovered the Islam religion has some things I like better than so called Christians. I was in their country so I accepted the Egyptian way but I was never comfortable with the bribery and begging.
It was over 100F most days but they have a very cool breeze in the evenings and nights and that makes the evenings much more tolerable than say, China, where it is hot and muggy in the evenings and nights. If you have never been to Egypt I do recommend a visit, but only after China or Asia. I think Asia has more to offer a traveler. I stayed at the Marriott in Cairo and that is a first class hotel with first class service. It is my favorite hotel. I went to Abu Simbal and I was only 40 miles from Sudan. I wish I could have stopped in Sudan.
