Travel to Argentina

I traveled around South America for 5 months in 2008. Argentina was my favorite. Mendoza is great for wine region and exploring mountain ranges such as Aconcagua, also went white water rafting in the Andes from here which was amazing.

Esteros del Ibera near the town of Mercedes close to border I think of brazil.. If you want to come close to nature, very remote place takes a while getting there, but I stayed on a ranch for a few days and saw some amazing wildlife.

Salta in the North is a beautiful colonial town, very historic, very chilled and from here you can take the train to the clouds “Tren de las Nubes” – a round trip through the mountains with stunning scenery. Bariloche in the south is beautiful. Alpine cute ski town, fishing on the lake in the summer, skiing in the mountains in the winter.. Famous for skiing, homemade ice cream and chocolates..

Buenos Aires is indeed European – French and Italian. Very classy place and what a place to party, basically 24 hour city but my favorite city in the world. Highly recommended but like all cities not ideal for chilling though it is very cheap. Learn to tango, visit Eva Peron, dine out in Palermo..

Traveling around Argentina is a delight in itself by bus. Some trips take 24 hours but for that you can get 3 course meals, entertainment and as much booze you want to help you sleep! Great way to see the scenery as well. Also some seats recline to ‘coche cama’ full bed.
