I visited Egypt last year and stayed at the Oberoi Mena House which is literally just down the hill from the 3 Pyramids. It’s the only Hotel that’s that even remotely close. It’ll cost you a lot of money, but you can open your curtains and see the Pyramids in full view, watch the “camel parade” leave the stalls and head up the hill for the day, and be able to view the nightly laser light show on the Sphinx and Pyramids at night.
In addition the concierge will not only arrange for a camel ride around the Pyramids, but drive you up there in an air-conditioned vehicle and drop you off right there. You don’t have to Bargain or barter with the locals (which is hell). It cost us $20 for the camel ride. It’s a very ritzy hotel. Presidents and other important people have stayed there, but if you have the money, it’s worth it.
The Oberoi Mena House does sound spectacular. I Would just love to wake up and have the pyramids as a bedroom view. Will definitely save up my pennies for this one…
But just how expensive is it?
